Henry Carlton Atchley, 74, of Watervliet, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home.

A celebration of life service to honor Henry’s life was held on Saturday, March 25 at the Redemption Church of Eau Claire. Pastor John Saylor officiated. As to Henry’s wishes, cremation followed the service. The family has requested memorial donations be made to the church. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family can be left at

Henry was born on June 4, 1947, in Reverie, TN, the son of James and Irene (Smith) Atchley. He was a farmer by trade. He faithfully attended the Redemption Church of Eau Claire.

Henry is survived by four daughters: Sally Ann (Mark) Miller, Wanda (Jake) Tucker, Autumn Atchley and Vicki Atchley; nine grandchildren: Katie Miller, Lucas Miller, Matthew Tucker, Heather Herron, Chelsea Wright, Nathan Atchley, Tyler Atchley, Jessie Atchley and Arlo Tucker; ten great-grandchildren; siblings: Billy Joe Atchley, Red (Yvonne) Atchley, Alice May (Boyd) Saylor and Sandy Keller; and many nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in passing by wives, Mari Atchley and Barbara Turner; a son, James Henry Atchley; a grandson, Carter Donovan; his parents; and a brother, L.D. Atchley.
