Santa visits Coloma Twp. Hall today!
Santa will be making a guest appearance at the Coloma Charter Township Hall on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 6-8 p.m. Kids can visit Santa and make their wishes known.
In addition, a Holiday Break Food Drive will take place on Sunday, Dec. 21, at the township Hall. A drive thru drop-off will be available from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Food items can be dropped 24/7 in the township lobby through Dec. 20, 2025. Donations needed include bread, canned fruits/vegetables, packaged cookies, dry cereal, juice, oatmeal, pancake mix, peanut butter/jelly, and Ramen noodles.
Hartford & Lawrence United Methodist churches have special holiday events
On Friday, Dec. 19, the Hartford UMC will be showing the movie “Holy Night” (The Chosen) at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. is a Blue Christmas Service in Hartford for those who have experienced loss. On Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. in Hartford and 7 p.m. in Lawrence are the church’s Christmas Eve Services. The public is invited to all the special events.
Christmas with Honor in Decatur
Honor Credit Union is spreading holiday cheer in Decatur with its annual Christmas with Honor celebration, taking place on Friday, Dec. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Decatur Fire Department. This free, family-friendly event is open to all community members and is designed to bring neighbors together for a joyful evening of festive fun.
This year’s celebration will feature a variety of holiday activities for families to enjoy, including: Live Reindeer – A magical opportunity to see Santa’s companions up close; Pizza – Complimentary slices for guests to enjoy; Letters to Santa – A special station for children to write down their Christmas wishes; A Visit from Mr. & Mrs. Claus – Perfect for capturing free photos and holiday memories on your phone
Community members of all ages are encouraged to stop by, enjoy the free festivities, and celebrate the season with neighbors, friends, and the Honor team.
Coloma FOP hosting Breakfast with Santa, Dec. 20
On Saturday, Dec. 20 the Coloma FOP Lodge is hosting a Breakfast with Santa for community families. The event is from 9 to 11 a.m. and the cost is $5. Kids age 12 and under are free.
The Coloma FOP Lodge #147 is located at 3470 Angling Road.
Vox GR Choral Ensemble in Holiday Concert, Dec. 21
A holiday music tradition continues Sunday, Dec. 21, when the South Haven Performance Series presents Vox GR, the premier professional choral ensemble in West Michigan.
Since its founding in 2010 the Performance Series has concluded its season by celebrating the holidays with a concert free of charge to the public. Donations toward the 2026 Series are accepted.
The 4 p.m. concert will be presented at Peace Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Memorial Hwy in South Haven.
Vox GR, led by Artistic Director Dr. Christopher Mason, was formed in 2022 and all the ensemble’s members are professional singers who reside in Michigan. Vox GR performs a wide repertoire of choral music stretching across all eras from composers of diverse backgrounds.
The concert program theme is Northern Lights: Journey to the North with Vox GR it will be centered around tunes that celebrate nature, the winter season, and Christmas.
Sing-a-long service this Sunday
This Sunday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. the community is invited to a “Christmas Cards Song Service” at First Missionary Baptist Church Coloma, 295 Washington Street.
Community Christmas Eve Service
“Presence”
Watervliet Church, a place to belong, is offering the community of friends and family an opportunity to join together for a fun 1-hour Christmas Eve Worship Event. There will be music, a message and communion by candlelight. “Presence” begins at 5 p.m. and is happening at 7734 Paw Paw Avenue in Watervliet, where everyone is welcome!
Hear the Christmas Story on Christmas Eve
Everyone is invited to join the people of Coloma United Methodist Church Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. for Christmas Eve worship. Pastor Ryan Low Edwardson will share the Christmas Story in lessons, and carols will be led by the church and handbell choirs. Coloma United Methodist Church is located at 144 S. Church Street.
