ILAJEAN WOLF

Jeanie’s life began March 14, 1928, in Watervliet, Michigan. She embodied a strong work ethic in everything she did, including farming, hospitality, and service. Outside of work, she enjoyed relaxing with a puzzle or word search, or keeping her hands busy crocheting and knitting. Jeanie loved to take walks and dance, especially the polka. Her favorite thing to say was “keep positive” and she enjoyed sending cards with messages of faith and support to family and friends. Though she was called “Gram” by her family, she gave herself the nickname “Foxy Gram” as a nod to her spunky and humorous attitude.

Family was Jeanie’s joy and she leaves behind her loved ones to cherish her memory, including: her daughter Debra (Richard) Beebe; three grandsons, Derrick (Shannon) Beebe, Dustin (Iren) Beebe, and Nick Wolf; two great grandchildren, Connor and Rowan; two sisters, Joahnita Paustian and Beverly Tidey; and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanie died Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Wolf, her son Randy Wolf, four siblings Dewey Hiler, Richard “Sonny” Hiler, Eileen Scott, and Dorothy Reynolds, and her parents Lester and Marjorie (Person) Hiler.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Jeanie‘s memory will forever shine brightly, a testament to a life well lived and a spirit that touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Jeanie’s life will be celebrated Friday, July 5, with visitation starting at 11 a.m. and funeral service at 12 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Watervliet Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jeanie’s memory to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Jeanie’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
