Over the past several years there have been many efforts made toward improving the transparency and accountability of our state government. More recently, with the passage of Proposition 1 of 2022 and further work in the legislature, these efforts have finally begun to take hold. I have been supportive of recent legislation on the topic and hope we can continue making progress in this area. Transparency is a key component of a successful representative government, and our bipartisan legislation takes a significant step toward making our state more transparent and accountable to citizens.
