Jim was born on Oct. 27, 1944, in Saint Louis, MO, the son of James and Wilma (Blumenkamp) Barricklow. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved watching them with a Bud Light, and a chocolate brownie for dessert. He graduated from Coloma High School in 1962, then joined the Marine Corp in 1964, serving as a telegrapher in Vietnam. He loved his country and was a true patriot. After serving in the Marines, he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Michigan University. He was employed by Heath Company for 25 years, rising to Regional Operations Manager and traveled to many of the states and Canada. He held several officer positions throughout his tenure there. He then worked in accounting at the Berrien County Health Department until his retirement.

Jim was an avid bowler, bowling two 300 games, and a 299 game. He is in the bowling hall of fame in St. Louis, MO. He was also secretary/treasurer of the Heath Company bowling league at Kelly’s Bowl for many years. His love for bowling was only surpassed by his love of golf. He was also secretary/treasurer of the Heath Company golf league at Pebblewood golf course for a number of years. He loved going to breakfast with his golf buddies on Thursday mornings and then spending the rest of the day on the golf course with them.

He was a man of few words but cared deeply for his family. He and his wife, Susie, loved to travel and visited all 50 states. He loved his furry friends (Elvis and Libby) and even “Susie’s cats”.

Surviving are his honey and wife of 35 years, Susie Barricklow; two children, Beth (John) Munson and David (Jodie) Barricklow; two step-daughters, Sheila (Eric) Goole and Shari (Jeff) Faultersack; nine grandchildren: Kira, Ella, Joshua, Dustin, Adam, Luke, Josh, Jenna, Kellie, and their spouses, 10 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Wayne (Carol) Prescott; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his brother Terry Barricklow and a great-grandchild.

“Once a Marine, always a Marine, Oorah”

It is suggested that you wear a golf shirt or something patriotic for the service.
