Jimmy R. Middleton, 81, of Bainbridge Township died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023 at the Methodist Hospital South Lake Campus in Merrillville, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township with the Rev. Richard Kiser officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Watervliet Township. The visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Fairplain Chapel in Benton Township. Jimmy was born on Jan. 7, 1942 in Tyronza, Arkansas to Ranson and Thelma Middleton. He married his wife, Mary, and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Jimmy was employed at Bosch for over 20 years before his retirement in 1997. He was very mechanically inclined and creative in repairing machines there at Bosch. He specialized in hydraulics. Jimmy was a longtime member of the 12 Corners General Baptist Church and was a part of their music program for many years. He farmed a lot when he was home and enjoyed raising horses. Jimmy was an avid golfer and liked to work in the garden.
His family includes his wife, Mary; his children, Keith Middleton of Watervliet, Kim Rybarczyk of Benton Harbor and Crystal Middleton of Bainbridge Township; his brothers and sisters, Brenda Strickland of Savannah, TN, Barb Franks of Savanah, TN, James A. Middleton of Savanah, TN, and David Middleton of KY; his five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Earl Middleton, in 2022.
