JOAN BUJACK

Joan’s life began Feb. 6, 1931, in Bloomington, Illinois. She lived most of her life in Watervliet where she enjoyed being very active.

Joan worked as a secretary and was a member of several organizations including Watervliet Lioness Club, MECA, Small Business Association, and CWAEDC to name just a few. She held the community of Watervliet in high esteem and enjoyed giving back through helping organize fireworks, spearheading the annual duck race, and organizing fundraisers for the band to go to competitions. When Joan wasn’t giving back to her community you could find her enjoying playing bridge with her friends, trying her luck at the casino playing video poker, or playing bingo.

Above everything Joan loved being a wife and mother, always putting her family first.

Joan leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: three children, Sue Bujack (Marci Wisecup), Debora (Robert) Lutz, and Mark Bujack; four grandchildren, Marcie (Chris) Bujack-Daly, Todd Bujack, Nicole (Jonathan) Marsh, and Kurt (Hailey) Clement; and a great grandchild, Finn Bujack-Daly.

Joan died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Woodland Terrace of Bridgman.

She is preceded in death by her husband Merle Bujack, son Jeffrey Bujack, grandson Matt Bujack, her parents Delmer and Theodora Crain, and her sister Jean Crain.

A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. with visitation prior from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.

Donations may be made in Joan’s memory to North Berrien Senior Center. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Joan’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
