Joan (DeField) Fox, 95, of Watervliet, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at her residence.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma, where the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. Joan was born Nov. 7, 1928 in Coloma to Harry C. and Lois Isabelle (Brown) DeField. She graduated from Coloma High School in 1946 and Western Michigan University in 1950. On Aug. 20, 1950, she married Richard W. Fox of Watervliet. They were married nearly 73 years before his passing in May of 2023.
Joan taught school for 30 years and retired in 1988. During those 30 years, she taught in Lawrence for two years and Coloma for 27 years. Joan attended Salem Lutheran Church in Coloma and enjoyed golfing and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
Joan is survived by a son, Rick Fox of Watervliet, daughter Jill (Michael) Cullitan of Three Rivers, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.
In addition to her parents Joan was preceded in death by her husband Dick and her brother John DeField.
