JOHN E. COON

John Edgar Coon passed away May 7, 2022. He was born on Jan. 18, 1944, the youngest child of Edgar and Evelyn Coon. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary.

John is survived by his second wife Gail; two sisters, Nancey Westerhoven and Joyce Gustafson; his two sons, David (wife Selinda) and Brian (wife Heather); and five much loved grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Lexie, Andrew and TJ.

A master electrician, John was a member of the IBEW Local 153. As a member of the Watervliet community, John cherished his roles with the Watervliet Recreation Board. As both a coach and president, he truly enjoyed mentoring all of those involved in the organization. John was a fan of all University of Michigan sports, the Chicago Bears and any sports his grandchildren were playing.

Retirement offered John the ability to enjoy “Lake Life” and he could often be seen captaining his pontoon boat while giving tours of Osterhout Lake or on his patio enjoying a cold beverage while listening to his “oldies”.

No public service will be held, the family has already paid their respects in a private ceremony.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
