Juneteenth: The fight to end slavery continues dating back to 1865 becomes a Federal holiday in 2021

Congress passed a law to make Juneteenth a federal holiday in 2021 thanks to the activist, Opal Lee. The holiday was coined as a simple combination of the words “June” and “nineteenth.”
