For the first time in many years, there will be eight Hartford residents running for commissioner during the November 7 election. There are three open seats and the current commissioner, Helen Sullivan, will be running as an incumbent. Additionally, Mayor Richard Hall will be running for re-election; however, he will have an opponent, Commissioner Ramon Beltran. Because the ballot will ask voters to choose no more than three commissioners and one candidate for mayor, Tri-City Record is taking a deeper dive into who these candidates are and why they should be a part of the government for the City of Hartford.
