How Coloma helps students start the year off right

Coloma schools community,

As the summer season winds down, Coloma Community Schools is actively preparing to welcome our students back for another incredible academic year. Setting our Comets up for success requires thoughtful planning long before the first bell rings. We focus on three specific, high-impact areas to ensure every student steps through our doors confident, safe and ready to learn.

First, we prioritize building strong relationships and easing back-to-school jitters before classes even begin. Through hosted open houses, grade-level orientations and campus walkthroughs, students get the chance to tour their classrooms, practice opening their lockers and meet their teachers in a low-pressure environment. These early touchpoints demystify the new school year, allowing students to start day one feeling familiar with their surroundings and connected to caring adults.
