LUCY M. MCGEE

Lucy Marie McGee was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Abraham, West Virginia, the daughter of George Washington Woolwine and Nellie Annabell Boggess. Lucy passed away peacefully at the age of 76, from this life on earth to Eternity in Heaven on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan.

Lucy was united in marriage to James E. McGee on Oct. 15, 1993, in Berrien County, Michigan. She retired from Watervliet Hospital after 38 years of dedicated service as a Registered Nurse. Lucy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking nature walks at Sarett Nature Center. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed participating in local 5K charity walks, fishing in local lakes, and hunting for morel mushrooms.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. at the New Life Christian Center in Coloma (6674 Paw Paw Ave.), where at 1 p.m. a Celebration of Life service will be held. Pastor Rick Stevens will officiate. Lucy will be laid to rest in Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton Township, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to assist with expenses would be greatly appreciated. The Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford is assisting the family and memorial condolences for the family can be left at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.

Lucy is survived by a sister, Lena Daniels; her grandchildren, Jase (Crystal) Burnett, Alexandria (Nathen) Burnett-Ritter, Michael (Lacie) Burnett, Gage (Norah) Burnett, Marrissa Legon and Hailey Faye Legon. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Aaralyn Flowers, Braedyn Rousey, Elsie Rousey, Liam Burnett, Elizah Burnett, Adalynn Ritter, Luella Ritter, Landon Ritter and Carly Main, and daughter-in-law Kathy Burnett.

Lucy was preceded in passing by her husband James E. McGee; sons, Greg A. Burnett and Michael L. Burnett Sr. and eight of her siblings.
