 Margaret DuVernay, 94, of Coloma, passed away on May 20, 2025, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
 A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet, followed by cremation. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marge’s memory may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Food Pantry in Watervliet or Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio.  Marge was born on Dec. 17, 1930, in Carey, Ohio, to Charles C. and Veronica E. (Alt) Courtad. She graduated with her teaching degree from Ohio State University and shortly thereafter married Gilbert R. DuVernay on June 21, 1952. Marge was a homemaker, focusing on her family and her children, and in 1971, they moved to Coloma where she pursued her teaching career with Coloma Public Schools until retirement. Following retirement, she enjoyed reading, boating, gardening, swimming, line dancing, eating out, watching old movies and traveling. Marge loved being in the community, volunteering at the North Berrien Senior Center, Watervliet Hospital Auxiliary, North Berrien Historical Museum and at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was an active parishioner and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.
 Marge is survived by her children Gilbert A. (Teresa) DuVernay, Steven J. DuVernay, Rebecca A. (Jeff) Darling and Mark E. DuVernay; one brother, Owen (Barbara) Courtad; and grandchildren Kristin (Doug), Tim (Karen), Michael (Angela), Brianna (Travis), Evie, Re, Jacob (Meghann) and Benjamin (Jessica). Also surviving are great-grandchildren Corynn, Riley, Ariel, Elijah, Ashleigh, Sofia, Mason, Thomas, Braxton and one on the way.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert R. DuVernay, son Charles C. DuVernay and brother Pascal Courtad.
