Michele J. “Shelly” Burmeister, 78 of Coloma, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at home with her family by her side.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 3 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Michele was born June 19, 1943 in Benton Harbor. She was formerly employed by Whirlpool Corporation, Tacy’s Saddle Shop in Watervliet, Piwacki in Coloma, and Elder Beerman in Benton Harbor. In her free time she loved to draw and paint, play golf, and go horseback riding. She also truly enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her pool.

Shelly is survived by her husband Raymond, whom she married June 8, 1963 in Benton Harbor; a daughter Dawn (Jeff) Duncan of Coloma, her son Michael Burmeister of Florida, and a sister Darlene Zelmer of Benton Harbor. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Blake (Heidi) Rushing, Auston Rushing, Logan Rushing, and Kristina Burmeister.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents Albert “Pete” & Joyce Zelmer and her brother Darrell Zelmer.
