Middle school teacher from Hartford Public Schools quits one day after he was detained by the Michigan State Police

On Dec. 4, 2023 the Hartford school district was notified by the Michigan State Police (MSP) that one of their employees was being detained for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography. That teacher turned out to be, Phil Joel McAndrew, 50, from Lawton. The district then placed McAndrew on non-disciplinary, paid administrative leave, according to Superintendent Bradley Geesaman.
