Watervliet Public Schools is looking at engaging in a new standards-based grading system under Power School, rather than the traditional grading system for 4th through 12th grades in Social Studies and Math. What does that mean? Basically, combining different evaluated standard methods to measure learning goals to see where the student is excelling and what they need help on to achieve an excellent or better score. By using the standards-based grading system they are focused on learning goals and growth according to standards not just earning points for a grade.
