ree

Dorothy Ann (Eisen) Saltzman, age 93, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Dec. 10, 2025, at her home in Watervliet. A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, Dorothy dedicated her life with unwavering devotion to her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Dorothy was born on Sept. 8, 1932, in Eau Claire, Michigan. She was the fourth of five children of Albert and Marie (Rex) Eisen. She grew up on her family’s farm in Watervliet, and graduated from Watervliet High School in 1952. She married Carl Saltzman on Oct. 8, 1960, and they had two children together: Paul (Michelle) Saltzman and Mary Saltzman.

Dorothy’s life was a testament to her faith. She found daily strength in her walk with Christ and shared His love through her kindness, generosity, selflessness, and compassion for others. She faithfully attended Midway Baptist Church for 77 years, where she taught Sunday School and worshiped with her family. Dorothy reflected the peace and hope she found in her Savior.

Dorothy was blessed with three grandchildren: Ryan (Alison) Saltzman, Andrew (Christina) Saltzman, and Colin (Camille) Saltzman. She was also fortunate to have five great-grandchildren: Ella, Clay, Luke, Dalton, and Cedar, each of whom brought her immense joy. Dorothy cherished their achievements, prayed earnestly for their safety, and made it a priority to be a supportive presence in their lives.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, as well as her parents and siblings: Eric Eisen, Ozzie Eisen, Elenore Fish, and Herbert Eisen. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever strive to carry on her legacy of love, faith, and devotion. Although her earthly journey has come to an end, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at home with the Lord she faithfully served.

Friends are invited to visit with Dorothy’s family on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet.
