PHILLIP S. ZEHNER Sr.


Phillip S. Zehner Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 1, 2021 with his wife, Joan Zehner by his side in Paw Paw. He was the son of Harold and Mary Zehner, born on April 10, 1955 in Watervliet.

Phil grew up in Watervliet and lived in the area most of his life. He was a truck driver until he retired, working for various trucking companies. After his retirement he enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, attending different car shows, watching NASCAR, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his wife.

He is survived by his wife Joan, whom he married on April 24, 1999; his children, Dorenda (Shon Taylor) Zehner, Steven Zehner, Phillip Zehner Jr., Christopher Zehner, Eric Zehner, and Heather Zehner; his seven grandkids and one great-granddaughter; also surviving are his sisters, Sandy Whitfield and Ruth Rantz; his brothers, Harold Zehner Jr., George Zehner, and Mike Zehner along with his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Ileah and his sisters, Brenda and Kay.


According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Bangor Chapel of the D.L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com.
