September is National Preparedness Month in the United States, a time to focus on being ready before a disaster strikes. Here in Southwest Michigan, residents enjoy four beautiful seasons, but each comes with challenges—snow and ice storms in winter, thunderstorms and flooding in spring and summer, and the occasional tornado. For older adults, being prepared isn’t just a smart idea—it’s peace of mind.
