Rita Lynn Johnson, 71, of Covert Township, died at her home on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023.

Rita was born on Jan. l3, 1952 in Benton Harbor to Lonnie and Wanda Warren. She married her husband, Dennis Johnson, and celebrated over 30 years of marriage before his death on Feb. 1, 2021. Rita was a homemaker and enjoyed watching Steve Hardy on TV. She also loved to play board and phone games with her grandchildren. Rita loved spending time with her family.
Her family includes her daughter, Kerri (Rick Lacer) Cobb of Covert; her stepchildren, Christine Parks of Osceola, IN and Dennis Johnson Jr. of AR; her sister, Laura Smith; her brother, Les Warren; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Rita was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lonnie Cobb; and her sister, Linda Abbott.
