Bud’s life began June 17, 1947, in Benton Harbor. He grew up in Coloma and was a proud member of Coloma High School class of 1965. After high school Bud continued his education at Michigan State University earning a degree in Agricultural Science. He was a proud member of the United States Army Reserves.
Bud was a fruit farmer, drove truck for years, but he will be remembered for his over 40 years at the Watervliet Fruit Exchange. Bud loved being active in his community be it through the Jaycees where he served as a Regional and State Director and was awarded farmer of the year, or his many years of volunteering through 4-H. Bud also enjoyed attending a good tractor pull or car race. You couldn’t go anywhere, even to another state, without running into someone who knew and liked Bud. He was one of the smartest people you will ever know and had a huge love for animals.
Bud was an awesome husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory including: his wife of 52 years, Bonnie (Stevens) Schultz; three sons, Shawn (Dawn) Stevens, Robert Schultz, and William (Dana Lewison) Schultz; five grandchildren, Grant (Jennifer) Leng, Raymond Stevens, Andrew Stevens, Anthony Schultz, and Shellby Schultz; three great grandchildren; two siblings, Kathy (Larry) Yonker and James (Mary) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews.
