RONALD L. DAHMS

Ronald Lee Dahms passed quietly to his eternal life on Dec. 14, 2023. Ron was a son, chosen in love at birth on Feb. 16, 1960 by Robert and Lorayne Dahms of Watervliet. He was raised with an older brother, Mike. Ron is one of 23 grandchildren to cherished grandmother, Letty Otte.

Ron graduated from Watervliet High School in 1978 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1981. He proudly served his country as an aircraft structural maintenance technician. Upon honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant from the Air Force in 1988 he worked construction in Texas before returning to Michigan to continue in building trades while honing his woodworking skills. Most recently Ron was employed by Quality Dining as a site supervisor for Burger King and Papa Vino’s remodels.

Ron found great joy in hunting and fishing with friends. He also loved sharing his cooking and baking with others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and some special aunts, uncles and cousins.

Left to mourn Ron’s passing are his Aunt Sis, Aunt Frances, and Uncle Pat; many cousins and friends; his special “band of brothers” Scott (Rhonda) Smith, Mark (Julie) Smith, Ron Wycoff, Tom Hunt, Tom Brown, Josh Admave and George Getz; and close friend, Nikki Reitz.

Cremation has taken place, arranged by Starks Family Funeral Homes, and burial is 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet Township with a graveside service.
