Ronald Leroy Hirsch Sr., 68, of Coloma passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.
Ronald was born Dec. 6, 1953, in Benton Harbor, the son of Fred and Hilda (DeVay) Hirsch, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing are a sister, Karen Hirsch; an aunt, Emily McInerney; and a cousin, Kim Marie Siewert.
Ronald served his community as a volunteer firefighter on the Coloma Fire Department for 20 years. He spent most of his life in the workforce, farming on the family farm and at Hi-Ler Farms, which was a big part of his life growing up. He was employed for 17 years in Plant 7 at the Whirlpool Corporation, before retiring from Laborers Local 355 of Battle Creek after 17 years.
Ronald is survived by two sons, Ronald Jr. (Laura) Hirsch of Gainesville, FL and Zebulon Hirsch (Rachel Lewis) of Paw Paw; three grandchildren: Briella Rose, Alexandra and Rowan; step-son, Dylan (Agness) Burnette; brother, Tom (Madeline) Hirsch of Coloma; nephew, Timothy Hirsch; aunt, Elenora Augusta Siewert; and a cousin, Mark (Phyllis) Siewert.
Ronald has been cremated, and no public services will be held. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
