Securing the southern border

Last week, my colleagues and I introduced a resolution in support of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts to secure the southern border. Senate Resolution 91 would recognize and “support the actions of the governor of Texas in furtherance of his constitutional right and responsibility to protect the citizens of his state and secure the border.” The resolution comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Biden administration lawsuit allowing the president and federal agencies to remove border security devices recently installed by the state of Texas.
