Sylvia Dawn Kintup Arndt, 94, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, at her home.
Services celebrating her life were held Oct. 20, 2025, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service & Cremation Service with Pastor Nathan Buch officiating. Burial followed the service at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude, the Berrien County Humane Society or Beautiful Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sylvia was born on Feb. 24, 1931, in Benton Harbor to William and Geneviene Kintup. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1948 and was a housewife her entire life. Sylvia married her husband, Walter Arndt, in Benton Harbor on Feb. 12, 1949, and this union produced four children.
Sylvia was confirmed and became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Dec. 8, 1956. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, Great Lakes Ships, and word games. Sylvia also enjoyed getting together with her family and friends at gatherings. And she loved going to church, our Lord, and believed strongly in prayer.
Her family includes her children, Michael (Kathryn) Arndt of Morrilton, AR, and Larry (special daughter-in-law, Darla) Arndt of Eau Claire; her sister, Barbara (Art) Scherer of Watervliet; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, in 1985; her daughters, Debra Rynearson and Yvonne “Bonnie” Arndt; her grandson, Jason; her brothers, Ronald Kintup and William Kintup; her special aunt, Margaret Kintup; and many loved relatives and friends.
