HARTFORD’S ROY HINCKLEY

Late on a hot afternoon, July 7, 1939, Roy Hinckley, owner of The Hartford House lost his life. He and his wife, Nina, decided to visit friends in Grand Rapids that weekend. Since they had bought the hotel from Charles Giddings in 1915, they had improved the place until it had become one of the finest hostelries in Michigan.
