THERESA STARK

Theresa was born on Oct. 7, 1958. She was the seventh child of Woodrow and Dovie Downey. Theresa was welcomed into the world by five brothers and one sister. She helped them welcome two more siblings. Theresa attended Coloma Schools. She also graduated from Twin City Beauty College. She met the love of her life Brian Stark when she went to work at Virginia Hardy Ovens. They were married Oct. 30, 1982. She became a loving second mother to Brian Jr. She loved fishing, target shooting and horseback riding. She also loved to cook and bake, which she shared with friends and family. She loved traveling, but her favorite thing was to be with family and friends.

Theresa is survived by her son, Brian Stark Jr. of Dallas, Texas; also brothers Wayne (Sandy) Downey, Larry (Dovie) Downey, Guy (Judy) Downey and Keith (Pam) Downey; sister Kim (Jeff) Copeman; also by sisters-in-law Sue Downey and Diana Downey, many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

Preceding her death on Aug. 8, 2024 was her loving husband Brian, her parents, her siblings, Mike Downey, Stan Downey, Cis & Dewey Hiler and nephew Scott Downey.

She was loved dearly and will be missed by each and every one.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church, 8712 Red Arrow Highway, Watervliet; the Reverend Doyle Jackson officiating. Those wishing to share a memory or leave a message for the family may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.
