THOMAS WESAW

Tom’s life began Sept. 22, 1923, in Toquin, Michigan. He was a lifetime area resident.

Tom was a very proud veteran of the United States Navy; he served during World War II. Tom worked in Tool and Die for many years and served as President of his union for 24 years. When Tom wasn’t working you could find him relaxing, reading a good book. He loved to travel especially to Mackinac to see the bridge and go to the island and to Niagara Falls. Tom enjoyed bowling in his younger years, camping, and taking his dog Fifi for walks. He was very involved for years with the Pokagon Tribal Council where he served as treasurer and a member at large. Tom will be remembered as a great person who loved watching out for others. He was also involved with The Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and VFW.

Tom leaves behind his brother Gerald Wesaw, a niece and his caregiver Glenna Jach, and numerous more nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

Tom died Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 at Forest Glen Assisted Living in Dowagiac with family at his side.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Wesaw, a sister Genevieve Wesaw, and a brother LeRoy Wesaw.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Hartford. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Tom’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
