Shirley A. Boone

Shirley’s life began May 29, 1946 in Watervliet, Michigan.  She grew up in Watervliet where she graduated high school in 1964. After high school she earned a bachelor’s degree from Andrews University.  Shirley worked for many years as an executive secretary for MPH in Riverside. However, the favorite job she held was babysitting her grandchildren.  In her spare time you could fine Shirley knitting, sewing, doing cross stitch, or reading.  Shirley enjoyed being active in her community which brought her to being treasurer of both the North Berrien Historical Society and Hartford Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Shirley’s greatest joy came in spending time with her loving family which includes: her husband Charles Boone; two sons Todd (Jodi) Hammond and Chad Hammond; three grandchildren Maya Hammond, Jacob Hammond, and Jackson Hammond; a sister Jeannine Kerbs; and many nieces and nephews.  Shirley died Saturday, July 2, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.  Her parents Ward and Elsie (Kietzer) Danneffel precede Shirley in death.  Friends may visit with Shirley’s family Thursday, July 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Hartford Seventh-day Adventist Church. Cremation will follow her funeral services.  You are invited to share a memory with Shirley’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
