Sheila Wilcox-Harris

Sheila Wilcox-Harris, 73, of Coloma went to be with her Bluebirds in Heaven on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  Services celebrating her life were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 6, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Harbor. Cremation has taken place.  The visitation began at Noon on Monday at the Fairplain Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.  Please share memories, messages or photos at www.florin.net.  Sheila was born on June 4, 1942 in Cheboygan, MI to Harold and Dorothy Elyea. She married her husband, Richard Harris, in 2000 and together they have celebrated 16 years of marriage.  For many years Sheila had a newspaper route which she loved to do.  She also worked as a school aid for the Benton Harbor School System and assisted her husband with Harris Trucking.  She enjoyed working alongside her son at the Wilcox Grocery Store where she tried to retire three times. She enjoyed hunting of all kinds, cooking and going to the casinos.   Her blue birds were an important part of her life.  Sheila was a fun loving and giving individual who was the instigator in many practical jokes.  She loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren, her friends and her dogs. Sheila was the best mom and nanna anyone could have.  She put everyone else first and she will be dearly missed by all.  Her family includes her husband, Richard, of Coloma; her children, Lori Wilcox of Sodus, and Jon (Kathy) Wilcox of Berrien Center; her step children, Richard (Madeleine) Harris, Jr. of Hartford, Donald (Karen) Harris of Coloma, and Dennis (Brenda) Harris of Coloma; her 12 grandchildren, her 13 great grandchildren and her two dogs, Abby and Annie. She was preceded in death by her two sisters and a grandson.

Phyllis Sundberg Westlund

 Phyllis Sundberg Westlund, born on November 3, 1929 in Chicago, IL passed away on May 28, 2016, in Schaumburg,IL.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Dean (Rory) Westlund, of Lockport, IL; Mark (Janine) Westlund, of Glenview IL; Joanne (Roscoe) Rush, of Bartlett, IL.  Her grandchildren:  Janine Westlund, Carla Westlund, Roscoe T. Rush and Renee Rush.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Hazel (nee Dahlberg) Sundberg; her husband Milt Westlund; her brother, Clarence Sundberg; and her nephew, Sander Sundberg.

After graduating from Harper High School Phyllis was employed by Martin Senior Paint Company and Lincoln Electric Company.

Milt and Phyllis enjoyed dancing at the Viking Ballroom and were married on June 7, 1952.  She raised her family in Laguna Woods in Orland Park, IL.  She was a member of the Palos Park Presbyterian Church.

They enjoyed boating at Calumet Yacht Club, Chicago IL and social activities, dancing and boat races at Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club, Coloma MI.  She was able to enjoy her summers in Paw Paw Lake, MI and winters in Marco Island, FL.

A Celebration of life is scheduled for June 12 at 1 p.m. at the Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club (open house) with a 2 p.m. blessing and luncheon afterwards. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis’s life.

Death Notice

Mary Margaret Wrenfrow, 61, of Lawrence, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford.
