VINCE PRATT

Vince’s life began May 18, 1938, in Watervliet, Michigan. He grew up in Watervliet, where he graduated high school and was a lifetime area resident. After high school Vince proudly served in the United States Navy, and upon returning home Vince went to work for Alden White and Sons for many years.

Vince loved his community; one way he showed it was through being involved with the Watervliet Lions Club for over 45 years. Vince had a lifetime love for jazz music, steam engines, airplanes, and he had an encyclopedic knowledge of classic cars. Throughout his life, Vince built and nurtured community. He helped his neighbors when they needed him. He was dedicated to his lifelong friends. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Above everything Vince loved his family which includes: two children, Jason Pratt and Leslie (David) Scogin; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Lily, Joy, and Finneas; and his sister, Linda (Jack) Lacey.

Vince died Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

His parents Henry and Eva Pratt precede Vince in death.

A memorial service will be celebrated Sunday, July 30, at 2 p.m. with visitation prior starting at 12 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Vince’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
