VIRGINIA “GINNY” HAMILTON

Virginia’s life began Aug. 12, 1944, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was a lifetime area resident and worked for over thirty years in various positions at Hughes Plastics. Virginia’s favorite thing to do was being a loving mom and grandma, and spending time with her family. In her younger years you could find Virginia bowling on leagues, she was a past president of her union, and most recently enjoyed relaxing working crossword puzzles.

Virginia leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: three children, Richard Hamilton, Robin (Richard) Shuler, and John (Linda) Hamilton; nine grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a former daughter-in-law, Kelly Hamilton; sister-in-law Ruthie McNees; a special nephew, Jeffrey Barry; and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia died Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

She is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Sean Hamilton, her parents, Oral “Mac” and Betty (Green) McNees, and her siblings, Donald McNees, Peggy McNees, and Sonny McNees.

Friends gathered with Virginia’s family for visitation Saturday, April 22, at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. A graveside will be celebrated later after cremation. You may leave a message of comfort for Virginia’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
