Watervliet City Council concentrates on the town cemeteryDowntown trees are coming down; Trick or Treat hours

The Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund Act was a major topic of the Watervliet City Commission business meeting on Sept. 9, 2025. Along with making amendments to the rules of the cemetery, the board agreed to ordinance revisions and a fee increase for the available plots. The price for residents increases from $250 to $400 and nonresident fees change from $400 to $800. One of the rules amended was that green burials will be prohibited.
