Cross-country teams miss members for county meet

The Watervliet Panther high school boys’ cross-country team was without one of their top runners, but at the same time got a pair of dual sport athletes back from the soccer team for the day, on Saturday, Sept. 28. The team placed 7th out of 13 teams at the annual Berrien County Meet at Riverview Park in St. Joseph. Danny Mandujano ran a phenomenal race, finishing second in a field of 92 runners. His time of 16:27 was just a few steps back from the winner, Landon Rogers of Three Oaks/River Valley, and just 1.7 seconds off his own school record. These two were 30 seconds ahead of the next runner.
