The Hartford men’s varsity soccer squad hosted Berrien Springs on Tuesday, Oct. 20, for a district semifinal match, looking to make their way into the finals for the 13th consecutive season by knocking off the Shamrocks, whom they knocked out of the postseason by one goal last fall.
After eighty minutes of action on the pitch, which was dominated by the home squad for much of the evening, the Huskies moved on by reigning victorious, 4-nil. Hartford struck quickly in the opening half, scoring on an own goal just seconds in, followed by a tally in the fourth minute, which helped the green and white secure a 2-nil lead at halftime. The second half featured two goals in the 47th and 62nd minutes, while the defense played very well, closing with the shutout.
