A couple of hours on Saturday, August 15, 2026, were filled with memories and fellowship. The Watervliet High School cafeteria was the site of the 106th meeting of the Watervliet All Class Reunion. Social hour began at 11 a.m., with lunch following after a short program.
When it was all said and done, four decades of attendees were represented: the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, along with the 2000s. Five Watervliet alumni were first time attendees. The oldest Watervliet graduate was from the Class of 1956, Donna Collins Hays; with the two youngest from the Class of 2008: Samantha Crumb and Shawn Campbell.
Speakers this year were new Watervliet Public Schools (WPS) Superintendent, Craig Thornton; Barb Flaherty Schofield, representing the Watervliet Public Schools Foundation for Excellence; along with John Guillean, Watervliet Athletic Director.
Thornton, hired earlier this summer, began by introducing himself. He then spoke about the WPS history and of moving forward. He also gave a bond update on all of the buildings. He is proud to be wearing Watervliet maroon and white.
