Watervliet South Elementary students collect 1,500 boxes of cereal for local food pantries

HUGE SUCCESS!!! Watervliet South Elementary students collected 1,500 boxes of cereal for local food pantries in their annual Heartprints Cereal Drive. Students added a “heartprint” leaf on a tree for each box of cereal donated.

On Thursday, March 2, students, staff and others lined the halls and watched with excitement as the boxes tumbled in a successful domino run. The cereal boxes were donated and transported by school bus to local food pantries in time for National Cereal Day celebrated annually on March 7. The students were proud to leave heartprints in the Watervliet Community.
