Watervliet Township approves Lane Automotive tax exception, has fund balance of 23 months

A special meeting was held at 6:30 p.m., prior to Watervliet Charter Township board’s regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. The meeting was for the purpose of receiving a request from Lane Automotive via Cindy LaGrow from LaGrow Consulting to ask for a 12-year tax exemption for future expansion. Lane’s expansion plans include adding a mezzanine, new storage racking and mobile robot to help with efficiency and growth of the plant. With this added addition they expect the need to add new employment opportunities.
