Watervliet Charter Township Treasurer Tom Scheid reported at the Feb. 19, 2024 board meeting that there was an increase this month of sewage treated at the Paw Paw Lake Wastewater Treatment plant, almost exceeded their ability to treat. The sewage treatment plant processed 44 million gallons this last month. Watervliet Township’s portion was 15 million gallons. Scheid said the increase is likely due to the nine inches of rain that entered the sewage system. The cost of the 15 million gallons is $53,000. The previous month’s expense was $31,835.24.
