WILMA A. TAYLOR

Wilma Ann (Walker) Taylor passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, surrounded by her family, at the age of 84. Her funeral service will be held on July 18, 2026, at Coloma United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with services to follow at 12 noon. A private burial will be held on a later date. Memorial donations can be made to HOPE Resources in Coloma or Coloma United Methodist Church. Both were very near and dear to Wilma’s heart.

Wilma was born on Oct. 4, 1941, in Leavenworth, Kansas to Carl and Gladys Walker. She was the fourth daughter, out of five children. After graduating from Benton Harbor High School she began working in insurance. As time went by, she later became the person everyone went to see at Woltman Insurance Agency in St. Joseph. She and Ken Woltman worked together for many years until they joined IMS in 2003. Wilma worked over 50 years, until she finally retired at the age of 75. But, retirement did not mean rest and rocking chairs for Wilma. She kept busy by volunteering a few days a week at her church’s food pantry, HOPE Resources. She also made weekly visits to her daughter’s 1st grade classroom. She loved having the children call her Grandma while she read to them and helped with projects.

Wilma was a strong single mother, who raised three children on her own. She loved having all the chaos that children brought with friends and activities. Everyone called her Ma Taylor.

Wilma had eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. All were very blessed to have her. She attended countless sporting events, musical performances, dance recitals, award ceremonies and birthday parties. You name it; she would try to get there. Her greatest joy was her family! She would always light up when everyone was together.

Wilma also loved to travel. She took many vacations with friends and family over the years. She pretty much covered it all from Alaska to Hawaii and across the states. Of all the places she visited, her favorite destination was Branson, MO, where she spent more than 20 years making memories with her best friends.

Wilma is survived by her children, Rick (Ami) Taylor of Grand Rapids, MI, Dennis (Christy) Taylor of Benton Harbor, MI, and Sherry (Thomas) Cullitan of Coloma, MI.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Maxine Henry, Joan Floyd, Lois Babcock and Skip Walker. They are all together once again.
