Coloma Softball wins District title, Watervliet Baseball falls in District final

As we’ve reached the time that the calendar flips from May to June, it means that high school athletics, specifically bat-and-ball sports, are beginning to fade.

However, last weekend, district finals took place and three of our local teams took center stage, albeit in different locations. Coloma and Watervliet met on the softball diamond in Bangor, while Watervliet took on Schoolcraft on their home baseball field. The fans who packed both facilities knew how much these games meant – win, and you’re playing another weekend at regionals, or suffer defeat and your season comes to a close, which nobody ever wants.
