Hartford Boys Basketball
The Hartford varsity boys basketball team hosted Cassopolis on Tuesday, Dec. 16, for a conference game, looking to get back on the right track and stave off their first losing streak of the young season. After a close game early on, the wheels would fall off in a rough loss, 69-29.
The Huskies (2-3, 2-2) kept the game tight in the early stages, but the opponent’s stout half-court defense turned this one on its head. The Rangers led by a single point, 12-11, after the opening eight minutes, before a 21-5 run in the second quarter accelerated their lead to 33-16 at the half. Hartford’s woes on the court continued in the second half, as the men in green and white were outscored 16-5 in the third quarter and 20-8 in the fourth quarter, for the final blows.
