Hartford Wrestling

The Hartford varsity wrestling team traveled to Climax-Scotts on Saturday, Jan. 3, to compete in the Jim Wade Classic, a team tournament that featured four of the five scheduled teams in attendance. The squad may not have had a full roster of wrestlers, but they were still successful.

The Huskies (3-6) won three of their five duals in competitive action, defeating Bath, Bellevue, and a combined team of wrestlers from opposing teams (as Pittsford didn’t make the trip), but would be on the losing side of the scoreboard against the host team and Portage Northern.

Linken Birkhead and Brady Rice went 5-0 as individuals, while five wrestlers, including David Castro-Garcia, Josh Dyson, Mason Mireles, Daniel Ortiz, and Mason Whitman, all brought home 4-1 records.
