Hartford Township discusses increasing security measures at local cemeteries after vandalism at Maple Hill

Tensions ran high during Hartford Township’s regular monthly meeting on March 13, 2025 after many locals attended the meeting to voice their concerns over recent vandalism reported at Maple Hill Cemetery on March 5 and 11. Maple Hill Cemetery has been vandalized on more than one occasion in recent years, which has included driving over headstones, unloading dirt on top of grave sites when it should not be there, drivers sliding off the road and causing damage, and stealing and breaking decor from grave sites.
