The nineteenth week of the Tri-City Record’s annual Armchair Quarterback contest has come and gone, but we made sure to continue our long-standing tradition of challenging our knowledgeable ‘super fans’ over some ultimately tough choices on the gridiron. Our diehards attempted to pick the winners of seven collegiate football bowl games, in addition to three professional football showdowns that graced the docket. With ten games on the slate for our pickers each week, there are a plethora of different outcomes that can happen, which often separate the ‘best’ from ‘just good’ in our weekly standings. This week’s results saw five of our panelists end the previous year, and start the new one, on the right note with winning records. But after some of the events we witnessed on the football field over the course of the week (especially the sad situation that took place in Cincinnati on Monday night, a game that will not count in our standings), it really doesn’t matter, does it?
