Happy New Year, readers!
It’s hard to fathom that we have come to the close of another year around the sun. Indeed, the reference to the sun during the winter months is unusual in itself, but we are on the cusp of leaving memories from the previous year behind and preparing to create new ones very soon.
Over the past 365 days, the Tri-City Record has covered moments that elicited emotional responses from student-athletes, coaches, fans, and readers alike. Our newspaper reported on the wins and losses, the exuberance of winning conference, district, and regional championships, and the agony when teams came up short in realizing their season-long aspirations. Each night, we were greeted with something fresh and new in local sports, creating memories we won’t forget.
