Watervliet boys basketball team falters in losses to Parchment, Bridgman

Last week, the Watervliet Panther varsity boys basketball team hosted Parchment on Tuesday, Dec. 17 for a non-divisional conference game. The Panthers were looking to make it three straight victories, on a night where the state championship winning baseball team would be honored. Parchment Panthers proved their early-season hype was no fluke, as they came into the Watervliet gym and left with the win, 58-32. Those “other” Panthers controlled the game from the get-go, never trailing at any point.

PLEYER MAKES POINTS… Watervliet’s Jacob Pleyer stands ready on the perimeter, trying to make his way past the Parchment defender, to add to his point total. Pleyer, who’s started strong, averaging over twenty points per game, scored 46 points in two games last week, including 16 on this night. The match up resulted in a loss for the Panthers, 58-32.
