Watervliet Track and Field
The Watervliet varsity track and field teams sent one male runner to Kent City on Saturday, May 31 for the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals, hoping to make an impression against some of the state’s best teams, returning home with a podium finish and team points in his pocket.
Just one week removed from breaking two school records, Daniel Mandujano reaffirmed his place in the Panthers’ record book, by dropping his 1600 meter run time down to 4:24.41. Finishing in a pack of eight runners, battling for second through ninth, he would end his high school career with a fifth-place effort, positioning himself as an all-state runner.
