Watervliet Boys Basketball
The Watervliet varsity boys basketball team traveled to Decatur on Wednesday, Jan. 21, for a non-conference game, seeking its third victory of the season in this battle of teams with the same record entering the night. One rough quarter was the difference, as they were defeated, 45-37.

The Panthers (2-10) gave themselves a chance to pull off the win after an excellent finish to the first half, but it would unravel early in the second half. The Raiders would grab an 11-8 lead after the opening eight minutes, before Watervliet’s 14-6 run in the second quarter would give them the lead at halftime, 22-17. Decatur would respond in the third quarter, as their 16-5 burst gave them a 33-27 lead entering the fourth quarter, where they’d win the scoreboard battle, 12-10.
Brayden Harasewicz was the leading scorer for the Panthers, netting 11 points.
